پتیشن برای نجات دلارا

Pacynski and Amnesty International Join Forces on the Human Rights Bus; Holmstrand and Azizzadeh contact Iran's Ambassador to Sweden About Delara's Petition
On Sunday, May 20, Amnesty International joined forces with the SaveDelara campaign by putting its Human Rights Bus into action in Warsaw, Poland, where human rights activists joined SaveDelara campaign's Krzysztof Pacyński in a protest outside the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in opposition to Delara Darabi's impending execution. The protest began at 11:00 AM as the Human Rights Bus stopped before the embassies of five countries known for their egregious violations of human rights. According to Krzysztof, there were posters placed on the bus' windows, some of them displaying Delara's picture and name. Outside IRI embassy, Krzysztof gave a speech about Delara and other victims of human rights violations in Iran, such as Reza Alinejad and Malak Ghorbany . He also spoke about Iran's "fake moratorium on stoning." Additionally, Krzysztof took this opportunity to meet and speak with Kate Gilmore, Amnesty International's deputy executive secretary general about Delara's case and that of others. The rally ended at approximately 2:00 PM. Overall, the Human Rights Bus rally was a great success with a larger-than-expected turnout that raised a great deal of awareness about the cases of Delara Darabi, Reza Alinejad, and Malak Ghorbany. Also last week, Osborn Holmstrand spoke with the ambassador of Iran in Sweden, Mr. Hassan Ghashghavi, about Delara Darabi. Specificially, Osborn and Mani Azizzadeh, the author of the petition to save Delara from execution, approached Ambassador Ghashghavi to secure his assistance in delivering the signatures from Delara's petition to Iran's head of judiciary, Ayatollah Shahroudi. According to Mani Azizzadeh, the ambassador initially refused to take part in delivering the signatures. However, Osborn continued to insist, and the ambassador finally promised to deliver the signatures to Ayatollah Shahroudi. The additional signatures will be sent to Ayatollah Shahroudi as usual by Mani Azizzadeh. Osborn Holmstrand and Mani Azizzadeh are also members of Amnesty International.
